This picture was taken on Main Street, Selma Alabama. Walker Evans, the photographer, took this picture in December of 1935. It is outdoors, during the daytime, and the lighting is good because of the sun. There are about 5 people ranging from the ages of 30 and 60. One man seems to be wearing a suit and two others are wearing baggy shirts and blue jeans. The first thing that caught my eye was the sign that said "Fixings For Men." There is small business on the side of the street that's not in very good condition. There isn't too much spacing either. Also, a building is on the side to the right. The tone is relatively heavy because everything is pretty rundown. Overall, this was a descriptive and symbolic picture. It showed the life that people and business owners had in the Great Depression. All of the junk on the left side of the picture supports this. Two questions that I would ask are:
-a What are the objects on the left side of the picutre and why were they there?
-b Who were the people in the picture?

This picture was taken in the Vicinity of Selma, Alabama. The photographer, Walker Evans took this in January of 1936. It is outdoors in a rural area. It is probably about mid-day because you can see shadows, therefore the sun is up, and it is light. There is a man in the picture with a cowboy hat towards the right side of the building. He looks about 50 years old. The shack that is right in the center of the picture caught my attention first. There is a house in a rural area. It's not in very good condition but there is a lot of space. The tone of the picture is heavy and dreary. It is negative because of the lack of cleanliness and structure. This overall was a good picture of a bad place. If you look closely, you'll be able to see that there is dirt surrounding the house rather than crops of grass. If I were to ask the photographer two questions, they would be:
-a Who owned this house?
-b How long ago was it built?

This photo was taken in Eutaw, Alabama in July, 1936. Dorothea Lange was the photographer. The setting of it is outdoors in a rural field. It is during the day time so thereofre it is light out. There are two African-American females wearing plain, white, raggy, clothing. One female is about 7 years old while the other is about 30. The first thing that caught my eye was the openess of the field they were working in. There are no buildings or homes and the space is very big. Also, the tone of this photo is negative and heavy. At this time, people weren't making much money at all and also, two people working in bare-feet with crops seems like a hard job. Furthermore, this picture represents how hard people worked, because you can see that the clothes are raggy and they don't even have shoes. I would ask the photographer
-a How long these people work each day?
-b How much do they get paid an hour?
